Redd to miss two weeks with knee injury
On Tuesday, the AP reported that Bucks shooting guard Michael Redd is expected to miss two weeks after suffering a strained tendon in his left knee. He sustained the injury on a dunk attempt in Saturday’s game against Detroit.
This clearly isn’t how Milwaukee wanted to start its season. Redd is one of the few dependable veteran players on a team that should struggle to compete as it rebuilds. Still, in a top-heavy Eastern Conference, competing for one of the last playoff spots isn’t out of the realm of possibility for almost any team, so a fast start would go a long way towards keeping a dwindling fan base interested.
In Redd’s place, Charlie Bell slides into the starting spot alongside rookie point guard Brandon Jennings. Bell has experience running the point and Jennings is more of a shoot-first guard, so the two might actually work well together to help keep the Bucks afloat.
